I have decided to base my research paper on Portraying Human Minds in Film and the movie that i have chosen is A Beautiful Mind. I am very interested in paranoid schizophrenia in this film. Even though i haven't seen the movie yet the trailers look good and would help me in my research.
Even though i know the film won't complete my research it would help to get a jump start on it. I am looking forward in learning about how does schizophrenia develops in a person and also how do they act when they have this disorder.
This will work as a topic (though it's not as original as other possibilities). We will look at how to find a copy of your film. The basic research question is to compare real information on schizophrenia with the portrayal of the main character John Nash, a mathematician, in the film. What does the director (Ron Howard) get right or wrong in the movie? -Prof. D.
